Breast Cancer and Vitamin D

There have been a number of similar stories floating around lately, so I thought I would mention this. Using meta-analysis (the combination of data from several other reports), scientists at UCSD have published a few studies strongly linking Vitamin D with decreased risk of breast and colorectal cancer. Perhaps this means less sunblock is in order this summer.

I agree... the sun is good for you!

Thanks for the info...I could really start out with the "quitting that damm smoking!" I love the sun! I always feel better once spring and summer roll arounds. I think I def. have SADS. I really hope to move away one day where the weather is much warmer and sunnier. (I have at least 5 more years) The older I get, the harder it seems to get through some of these winter months. Oh well, back to living one day at a time, sometimes one moment...lol

Love ya,

Meg

When I worked in Oslo, my employer used to issue 'sun lamps' to anyone who wanted them during the extremely long fall/winter months. SAD is taken very seriously in Scandinavia; insurance companies sometimes sent severely affected citizens to tropical islands in order to recover.

I guess I'm living in the wrong country. Scandinavia here I come!
