The Bordentown Bulldogs mauled the Maple Shade Tigers this morning in the season opener for the 60lb division.
Quarterback Noah Jackson scored several times on sweep plays, and the Bulldog defense made several key stops late in the game against the larger and taller Tigers. Brandon Christian, Jack Parker and Kyle Kelly also made good progress running the ball thanks to a dominant Bulldog front line which repeatedly opened up the running lanes. The Bulldogs made one pass attempt, which was incomplete, but had no turnovers.
On defense, Max Berton was controlled early by the beefy Tiger line, but managed to work through it and was in the backfield several times as the game went on. DJ Parks, Ryan Hinkle and the rest of the Bulldog defense made several excellent open-field tackles and only allowed one breakaway run for a touchdown.
