Swap Night

I'm kicking around the idea of a music swapping club, tentatively titled "Swap Night".

Everyone has their favorite bands or songs or sounds. Everyone proselytizes. But a big problem with that is, no one really wants to listen to your crappy music. Until now.

The idea is, every interested music-lover would cram into our 3rd floor for a listening party. Members are invited to present 3 tracks for the group's enjoyment, complete with background info or stories that are pertinent to the track. Serious music, funny music, important, heavy, light music, big music, quiet music, scary, bubbly, shitty music-- you pick the tracks that matter to -you-. The only catch is: when your turn is over, you now have to sit and listen to someone else's picks, and give them the same attention that you expected of your crappy selections.

Better than a book club, and shorter than a movie club. What's not to like?
